    Description

Gorgeous finely woven, antique Saltillo serape. Vibrant, very deep and rich colors maintain their original brilliance. The center design is intricately hand woven with detailed pattern and colors. 6” fringe on each end is delicately hand knotted into a cross hatch pattern ending in loose fringe. Absolutely stunning!
This beautiful textile most likely dates from the 1950’s. As a longtime collector of Mexican textiles, on rare occasions I have seen a label. This fine piece has a label noting it’s creators and place of origin. Very unusual piece of provenance.
This textile has aged well and may have been displayed briefly and stored carefully. As a vintage piece it is in good condition. A few spots of fraying, a few small bites and one slight split. None of these issues are detrimental to the overall appearance but should be noted. Hung against a wall or draped across a table or furniture these slight signs of age will disappear. If held to a back light source they become more visible.
Wonderfully detailed design, rich colors. This lovely textile is a fine example of the best of Mexico’s craftsmen and their hand loomed blankets. An excellent piece for display or decor. Due to age and slight fragility I would not recommend heavy use.
Please see all photos and ask questions. Extremely collectible!
    31” X 62” + 6” fringe each end.
