Description
-Cheerful vintage Mexican hand woven wool blanket serape.  This large eye-catching mid century striped wool blanket (90” L includes a 3” tied fringe at each end x 49” W) has thousands of tightly hand woven stitches and a geometric design in the center.
-It took a skillful weaving artisan hundreds of hours to finish this handmade woven blanket.
-The main color is maroon with a gorgeous rainbow of additional vivid woven colors (shades of pink to burgundy, yellows, lilac to purples, greens, blues, copper, black and white).
-Would make a great throw, chair or couch cover, blanket, rug, bed spread, shawl or jacket/poncho.
-I purchased this years ago and was told it was circa 1940s-1950s.  It has been carefully stored in a smoke-free, pet-free house.  Great gift for you or someone else!
*CONDITION
:
Great vintage used condition. There are 5-6 small age spots (1/2” x 1/2”); an “aged” patina along the white woven areas, one repaired spot (1/2” x 1/2”); some missing, stained fringed (see photos).  No holes or tears.
