Description

Zapotec Indian Rug
Woven by Filomeno González Pérez
Hand Made in Oaxaca Mexico
100% wool
Dry clean
Measures 20 ½” long-including the small white fringes x 15 ½” wide.
This small, thick, hand woven wool rug with colors of red, yellow, white, orange, brown, tan, in geometric traditional patterns on a dark blue background is not faded and is without holes, tears, stains, or restoration. It is in the same condition as the day that I bought it new at a Tucson, AZ out door market two years ago. The Zapotec people raise the sheep, shear the sheep, card and clean the wool, spin the yarn, dye the wool by hand using mostly natural dyes, and then weave the rug. It can be enjoyed in many ways, for example, as a table runner, a place mat, a wall hanging, a small floor rug. I have provided photos of the weaver’s label, all 4 (four) corners, and the front and the back of the rug. Please see these photos for condition.
