Vintage Antique Mexican Saltillo Serape Shawl Blue Wool Woven Silk Fringe Blanket
This vintage antique Mexican Saltillo serape shawl blue wool woven silk fringe blanket dates from the 1930s. It is made of a vibrant colorful tightly well woven fine wool in shades of primary blue, with a woven white background serrated diamond shape center medallion "eye of god" and varying colored striped pattern designs separated by the colored stripes of Mexico's national flag red, white and green. This stunning Saltillo Mexican serape shawl style blanket tapestry has off white cream color hand knotted macrame silk fringe trim ends. The blanket measures 48 inches long, with an additional 5 inch long fringe trim on each end and is 23 inches wide. It is in excellent condition, with no holes or repairs. This is truly a bright colorful piece of woven Mexican Saltillo textile art!
